Bonnet underside colour

Post by EK 9893 »

Hi all,

I thinking of cleaning up the underside of my bonnet and was wondering, what colour should it be?

Thanks Trevor,

Mine is black and has some kind of insulation lining with the dealers logo on it.....

Maybe i should leave it alone, but it doesn't look the best in my option.

both my FB and EK have black under the bonnet Tony. I'd be inclined to maybe cleaning it someonehow rather than respraying so not to lose the dealers logo/info...

Hi Stewart,

The dealers information is actually on the insulation, so hopefully i can remove it safety and store it. I also have a mate who thinks he can make me a new one if i like.

Maybe this is another state by state variation???
I just thought they were all body colour
like the firewall which I found out later
is only an SA thing.

I thought they all had multiple colours underbonnet :? :? :?

My underbonnet has oil, rusty radiator blowby,grasshoppers,dust/dirt and the like.

Sort of a browny/blacky/greeny colour with added texture.

So it's not an original underbonnet colour :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Both my bonnets from Adelaide are the same colour underneath as the top.

I painted mine Clinker Grey because there was some left in the gun and it was prepped and ready to go ............
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
