EK Ute

Post by Kingaz »

Hey Everyone ive been a member for a few months now and realised i havent posted any pics of my project, I currently drive a riced up Honda Integra so to go old school was huge!!! After deciding on which classic Australian car to restore i found a EK Wagon in a deserted house unfortunately when the car was to be moved started to deteriorate, then along came the EK Ute pictured below. The ute was in great condition with original seat and door trims in great condition, Rear tray was new, has a low line canopy (dont think ill be keeping that though)

After always wanting a ute this was the car for me. Ive had her for a few months now, got her up and running again after a simple service and new carby still boasting the old grey and 3 on the tree, re wirings now been re done with al new lights etc. Currently going through the pain staking process of getting her ready for a road worthy. Plans for the Ute are to keep i oriiginal for now or as close to original as possible, keep the grey and spray her Tuscany Yellow with green interior

Ill post a fair few pictures with some notes & questions underneath

Heres the tray looks pretty good just need to replace the middle section

Heres the low line canopy currently protecting the ute from rain, sourced a good set of EH hubcaps will do for now lol

A close up from underneath need to replace king pins usual stuff for the roady

One concern is the passenger inner sill outer looks ok how much is it to replace the inner sill?

Sorry bout the long post thought its about time though as i said any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated restoring an old car is totally new to me big thanks to Matt (oldholden fan) for the advise he's already given!

Cheers Adam
