Info cut & pasted from the standard thread of Alison's.

More work on the spread sheet is happening as I type! The more info we can ad to the spread sheet, the clearer we can identify production numbers. Tim has been a great help here.

The corrections are being adjusted as I go and I am sending PM's to many members asking for chassis and engine numbers.

in conversation, I use the term "Standard" mainly about 215 sedans. I usually call Vans and Utes by those names ... I know they are standards.

By looking at the highest chassis numbers from each town, I can safely guess less than 20,000 215's were made.

The current figures, which are very close ... FB 215's at 10,000 and EK 215's at 6,000 .... 16,000 is a lot of cars, though, at 320,000+ FB-EK's, you can see why there are very few that have survived, when you see how many FB-EK are left now. 5% of initial production were 215 standards. 219 are proving very hard to figure. hardly any have been entered.

That makes them Rare  Did I say that

Steve,

a little off track, just thought I d ask, maybe another idea for a new thread or possibly add item to the spreadsheet,....

last sunday at judging day we were looking at the pencil production dealer number on a couple of the cars, Waynes had 150 and Peters was 152. I was looking at my car yesterday and it has a number 1 in the same spot. There is no other numbers and no evidence of any cleaning along the whole of this section, the paint is in the same condition the whole length. The car has Lober service stencil sprayed under the bonnet still so not sure if this number would be theirs or not. My car is the last post on page 34 of this thread if I havent linked it properly. Will be at the next meeting and Christmas party, have just blue slipped it last week and have been driving it everywhere on the weekend like a teenager just got his "p" plates

Thanks for your thoughts Lou. Don't think there would be too many left. Though worth a try. This would only apply to Sydney build cars, as in Vic and SA they are penciled near the regulator box. Hard to see on Vic cars.

Thanks so much for the ID plate and chassis. Do you know what the original engine number is or was? Any new purchase date?

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks Paul. Added to the sheet ! If the engine number is original to the wagon, that would be great too?

Once again Fabulous Job!

Thanks Steve

Unfortunatly the original motor is no longer in the wagon
Possibly changed when the original needed rebuilding some time in the wagons past
