Thanks guys, still needs some pinholes welded closed
I weld ,I grind,I weld I grind,I weld I grind and then some more
would have looked better if the grey holes were centralised(if that aint a word it should be)
but that would mean a double slice, still keen for the sideplate idea,
Still in 2 minds about slotting it in,I have a celica 5 speed and lj driveshaft and a locked 336 bang go
that came with it,Ill probably just keep them for Ron(later on)
VBS on the house mother $*#@ YEEE HAAAHHH!!!
This is my forum ,your just posting on it OOOOWWW

Thanks Scotty, the sideplate will be quite simple ,in my imagination(someone should shorten commonly used phrases to save people time).
just cut a piece of alum exactly 620mm long,98mm high round off the corners ,and either grind that stupid bit in the middle above the distributor off
or cut the bit out of the side plate, hardest thing to do will be getting the holes spot on,I have a thin piece of steel looking at me wanting to be a template
.
Scotty,
your my hero

Way cool.
Try contact cement to stick the cork gaskets to the block.

Nice job
Similar conversions were done in the 70's when it was hard to get a Red motor passed in an early Holden. An oil bath air cleaner helped as well to confuse the cops
Someone made a cast tappet cover like this sometime in the 70's as i passed on one at a swap meet in the late 70's. Wish i had it now.

looks great
Your an ideas man
and now when some joe blow comes up an says "whats in it tha ol 202 grey"
you can say "umm yes"
Im sure that people with not too much of an idea about the old holdens just blurt out a random number followed by either red or grey and hope for the best
