I am led to believe the Adelaide plant was busy assembling Vans for the EK's release, hence the high chassis number on the No-1 A Body.

Stygian, its the historical researcher in me, but I think it may be a little presumptuous stating all early cars were two tone grey. I'm suggesting that this is based on the only proof we have is this car and Tony Galea's No 4 being these colours so there is a bit of a leap there I'm afraid :wink: (sorry Steve)

I have a pre-release colour photo that shows a Cameo Beige/Snowcrest White Hydramatic (which is probably thesame one as in the beach shots used around the same time by GMH), and another B&W with a run off the line with two or three single coloured cars with the first one looking to be a light colour with a dark top (possibly Steve's car)

I'll see if I can find the photos.
