I'll give it a go, but Im no expert.

225 = this is the number GM use for sedans
7782 = this is the number off the production line, your sedan was the 7782 off the line.
A = Adelaide. your sedan was manufactured in Adelaide

the rest of the number are paint & interior trim codes. refer to this thead:

that engine No would be for the original engine, yor chassis No is on the right inner guard pretty hard to miss as the No's are quite large there's a terminal block for the headlight wiring it'll be just near that
and the engine No if you look on the engine just above the right engine mount it'll be stamped on the flat surface there

The insert line has PO 478A, I'm fairly sure the way it works is
PO = Production Option
478 = Hydramatic
A = Special

Thanks for sharing makes interesting reading when you have them all lined up, do you know if 225 and 229 production was counted separately or together; seems an awful lot of FB 229's built (around 50k) if they are separate?
