Only problem with that plan Terry is the insurance legality issue.
If there is by chance you do have a prang with some serious damage, and your motor size is listed incorrectly, your automatically, uninsured and even possibly unregistered in legal terms.
A few years ago I had a mate who had a XE Falcon. It had a 4.1 and he slotted a 302 into her. A few weeks later he smashed her, and had his insurance wiped.
There's nothing as Sweet as a EK V8

I think FB MAD was implying that you stroke the 5.0 injected, by doing this the external look stays the same, but the internals change.....am i correct???

I reckons this is the way i will be going!!! And i will run it with an auto!!!

Yep, correct, stroke it and externally its still a 308 ( 304 ) but internally its a 355.

Oldnek is right as well.

Only problem with your car being engineered for a 308 is if the excrement hits the air oscillating device ( shit hits the fan  ) and you are in a prang, the accident/insurance investigators could go over everything with a fine tooth comb. They'll try anything to save $$$.

I heard one story of an engineer years ago actually asking a fellow to prove that the engine he was using wasn't stroked otherwise he wasn't going to approved the V8 fitment. He had to pull one head off at the engineers workshop and the engineer checked the swept volume of the cylinders to make sure it was only still a 308 cube engine.

Maybe an isolated case perhaps.

Try the injected 308 as is without a stroker crank if thats what you decide on, still good horsepower there in a relatively light bodied car.And there is still enough get up and go parts suppliers around to modify it for higher output.

Terry.

refer to my previous post on what my mates EH ute with injected 5 litre goes like and fuel consumption
if you need it to go better than this does it's not a daily driver

^^zactly.

There's plenty of go-fast-bits available for a 5.0 that will see an 1100kg ute become quite the sleeper.

"IF" i do end up stroking the engine, it wouldnt be for a while!!!

But as you have said a standard injected 308 will have sufficent power for what i`m going to want/need!!!

So the options are there for the future, but at this stage it will be still quite the sleeper!!!

Still trying to decide the best colour for practicality....any recommendations??? I like the light yellow colour, and i also like the light greeny/blue colour.........but dont know how they will handle a job site....last one was white wich was good, but just not sure!!!

There would most likely be someone that would do that conversion. There are a fair amount of V6 iron block conversions getting around so an alloytech conversion is just the next part of the evolution process.

A mate of mine lives nearby and he has a V6 iron block in his EK and he is pleased with how it goes.

There is a place ( don't know exact name ) called V6 Conversions or something like that. They might do a kit or even fit it for you.

Otherwise try Castlemain Rod shop, they may also do one.

or castle auto electrical don't know anymore than they are at castlemain
good luck i,m pretty sure this will be a very tricky and expensive exercise but if it's what you want there's only one person that it has to please, and don't get the impression that i don't like the idea i do will be trick if or when done
oohh another thing that may be a drama and or expensive re: the gen3 the sump, they're not normal
the $4k kits are made for the ecotech and the ls1 to bolt straight in without having to change the sump i am pretty sure :)

cheers Jason

I was just wondering which state is easier to register an EK that has been built from 3 cars to a 5 litre fuel injected set up, NSW or VIC

don't know about the built from 3 cars  bit , what's doing there?
but if it's just an EK with injected 5L NSW is a peice of cake, don't know about VIC but i doubt it's any more drama
