i'm very happy aswell spent the night in my very warm house slept in my comfortable warm bed got out of bed at a reasonable hour in the still warm house :D :D

the only thing that can bring this down would be to find out there was a cheap very little to no rust FB/EK sedan ute or van at the swap  :(

Did you have porridge for breakfast too

It was a pretty good swap but it definitely seems like early holden stuff is drying up (atleast at swap meets)

last night i decoded the two chev engines with no nasty surprises .
The 400 is a 2 bolt main 70 - 72 model with the run of the mill heads .
The 283 is a late 60s corvette motor with corvette 68cc powerpack heads and 2 bolt mains - perfect for a nice little streetable ek.

Sounds good Harko !!

If your going the little chev, you will need to dress it old style .... finned covers and a few down draught carbs  might get away with a 4x2 with 2 as dummies, or 4 with really small jets !!

OK good to see some interest Trev ;)

Ive got about 90% of it painted now , the engineers and blue slip have been passed and , and just gaggin

Ive cut both roofs and it looks sweet in position , Ive trialled block hugger headers in the attempt to just make modifications to them but they go nowhere near it .
When I contacted Russel Clarke the engineer he said hmmm I think this will fall under individually constructed vehicle  I know that it doesnt and have been building it to comply with modified vehicle specs ,so I tried to find the actual modification that he thinks has pushed it over the line .
Have to keep one original crossmember - check .
2 speed wipers - check.
heater demister - check
4 inches of windscreen - check
vision up to 11 mtrs ahead on the bitumen - check
legal power to weight ratio - check
2 door conversion - he says ahh well its not just one thing , its all of them - maybe you could consider a v6 commodore motor

So I humored him and offered to rego it with a 6 cyl then do the engine upgrade , and his answer was "as far as I can see this will fall into the ICV catagory and if thats the case I am not interested"
I finaly got the answer ..............Hes not interested.

Apart from all that ,Im out of Gas and have to organise an account but Im at work whenever theyre open .

So at this point the gutter line , roof level , window position , window angle , and roof to window angle are all permanant .
Its good to feel some strength back in the roof again ,and feel confident Ive acheived the look I started out at .

Next milestone will be cutting out the body bracing
