2550lb for an EK, or 1157kg, gives a maximum NCOP engine size of 5785ci. The 350 Chev just sneaks in (5732ci).
The NCOP engine sizing question keeps coming up repeatedly. I might start another thread for it, as the "350's are OK" argument is a good one.

The weight of a hydro gearbox is 70kg, I found this ages ago by looking the gearbox spec sheet up
I would just use the weight of 2570 kg provided on the spec sheet found using the link for a EK with a hydro. Starting a thread on the subject is a good idea.
I thought it was a good idea, but when I worked through the numbers properly I wasn't happy with the answer I got (shouldn't have cut open the goose to see how it laid the golden egg):

I always try not to over complicate things. I think creating a thread on the topic is a great idea as the topic of engine capacity seems to raise it head with various experts commenting.
If people are informed they can then provide the engineer with the required information to get the result they want
Not much movement here. Lots of planning for air conditioning lines, fuel/ brake lines and wiring.
I did make up a coolant cross over pipe for the motor as I am running a remote mount electric water pump. Bit more cleaning up to happen plus a outlet to go in for the top radiator hose and weld in a threaded fitting to run the hose to.the water pump it self.
Also have the wiring loom to install.

I purchased a 22 circuit wiring loom for the car and also have a stand alone loom for the engine. The loom cost $280 with a new light switch and floor mounted dimmer switch. Very impressed with it, every wire labeled etc. Connectors are being replaced with higher quality ones but other than that it was money well spent.
I am very lucky that one of my good mates is doing the wiring for me. His a wizard with all things motorised and has done plenty of high end rods and race cars so he knows what his doing.
His also going to pull down the motor and box for me. Aim is to get 300kw at the wheels That should get me in front of any old FB.
So, still plugging away at the wiring. Well actually my mate is I just assist, coming along nicely and am so lucky to have a mate who is so capable. His also going to freshen up the motor and gearbox.
ECU going on top of the tunnel and will be hidden by a custom centre console.
Purchased another essential part, intank fuel pump hanger kit
Now just need to make the tank and fit it.
Made up a dummy counsel which will house two air conditioning vents, controller and cup holders. Still undecided whether to use a conventional hand brake or eletric one?
Should look okay though.

You have done the hard work with the console just brace it up a bit and fiberglass what you have then if need be pull out the mould ie cardboard mock up just don't be to generous with your lay up just a little at a time if you haven't fiberglassed before give me a PM I Am not a expert( drip under under pressure[ ) but do know a little
