I don't know Clay, but mine had remnants of black sticky, dirty cloth tape underneath the layers of brown and black vinyl tape applied over the years so that's what's going back. No blue tape anywhere on mine.

no-one makes blue loom tape, trust me I looked when I was doing the ute up - best I could find was a mob who would make it but the minimum order was 3000 rolls
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Next question: Dome light wiring.
Putting the loom back in today and thought that the red and white wires to the dome light ran up the c pillar with the rest of the loom to the boot/ tail lights etc. and the two dome light wires separated from the loom and then travelled along the roof edge to the middle and then went across to the dome light. My wires were cut, but there is no way there is enough wire for it to do that. What is the correct route for these wires?
Many thanks, B

There should be a slot at the bottom wires run up to light down to door switch then across the car to the other door switch if my memory is still with me :ughh: :ughh:

Hey Billy, now I'm confused. I was thinking that the white wire that goes to each of the door switches runs in the A pillars and that the passenger side one runs across behind the dash to join up with the drivers side one. Then the white earth wire and the red power wire then go to the dome light - presumably from what Blacky is saying through a hole at floor level in the drivers side b pillar???

I would put them in the A-pillar Brett. I did so on the ute and was easy with a thin bit of tie wire as a draw. You can run white earth down passenger a pillar to door switch, save running all the way across behind dash. Just do if before you install head lo ing and kick boards of course.

Maybe mine were not original, but they all ran up the A-pillar when I pulled them apart. No wiring in the B-pillar.

Hi Harv, I'm sure the wires from the door earth switches ran up the A pillar and then joined the main loom on the drivers side behind the dash. The bit I can't get sorted is how the red(power) and white (earth) pair get to the dome light. Blacky reckons they leave the loom and go up the b pillar to run across the headlining support to the light. I am keen to see what the entrance to the B pillar should look like. I can run the wires up the A pillar and then along the roof line above drivers door and will probably do this given I have no B pillar hole to run the wires in😀

Mine are running up the A pillar, I don't recall any holes in the B pillar.
