Stag is acceptable for water or steam use. It's not a cure-all though.

Yes well forgot the straightedge but don't reckon they will leak now.

The extension shafts that sync the two throttles together are fixed by roll pins not grub screws so no issue there. I reckon I had the jugs out of sync with the rear carb shut right down, which causes the vent valve to open.

Float levels were both too high. Hopefully better now but I did it static, just priming things up by cranking, but not starting. Got the linkage sorted better I think, and closer to getting WOT. Jeez what's the point having twin jugs if you can't. Just waiting for the battery to charge now.Image

Rear carb flooded and pissed out fuel sfter idling for a minute or so yet again. Main to throttle body screws weren't very tight, s o tight end them up. No more issues at this stage. Put the filters on and went for a run up Willunga Hill. Tomorrow is the hillclimb event but I'm heading over to the shack at Pondy to lay some lino, drink beer, surf and relax.

No dramas so kept going and gave it a sedate work out up the highway and back through The Range. No more flat spot and outsta ding overtaking pickup. So far so good, no leaks. Bit of crackling when I dropped it back to second coming down off the range. Audible induction noise from the sports filters. No droning at mid throttle. I'm pretty happy now fingers crossed.

Nice one Clay.
I'm having similar issues with the throttle - to get WOT on either of the SU's the pedal is super sensitive which takes some getting used to and I can see myself burning through a clutch or two - haven't put a performance clutch in as yet but think that will be the natural progression once this one goes - I might try the seat lifter spacers to see if that makes the pedal position more comfortable but longish legs are not best suited to these jiggers.

Well done Clay I had twins on the 208 I originally had in my fc and found them really good providing power all the way through the range.
Looks like you are finally knocking over all those little things.
