Well, after a few months up north, having bourbon o'clock without having done any work, it's a bit hard to get out there...
I've got some inspiration from checking out the great progress on other build threads, so I better get a move on...

inner and outer sills are in and getting ready for the floor - but I overshot beer o'clock - not even time to clean up

Good to see you’re back into it Patrick. Nice work, very tidy as Brett says and all done in the driveway?!
Cheers

thanks fellas ... yep, it was 25 degrees today - no more weather excuses (for now). I reckon I'll knock over the grinding and welding before it gets too hot ... and yeah, still in the driveway (with some rubber mats for the old knees). I'm keen to start putting things back together - inspired by other people's projects coming together ... but it would be more sensible to do some spannering before the guards go on - we'll see
just looking at your van thread Clay - back to it soon?

Yeah I’ll prolly put in a token effort on the van when the ute is done. Be fun to get back into rust repair.

thought I'd tidy it up so I could move onto something else - final shaping can come later

ahhh, something different...I dropped the oil out of the gearbox - it was cleaner than I expected, though the previous owner had been collecting bits and pieces, so probably also changed the fluids.
The gearbox had been dripping oil while sitting in the driveway so I put a new seal on the selector shaft

and a viton o-ring here

and took the driveshaft off and put in one of these (this was one of the spare parts that came with the car)

The vertical shaft was leaking on mine. I put an o ring in but still leaking. I have to cut a washer from some old leather satchel.

Hi Clay, yeah the o-ring I put in is pretty chunky so hopefully it will seal - I've got a whole box of various sizes to try out if it does leak (or yeah, try
something else). btw the o-ring is 'viton' which can handle oil. Patrick
