by the way, when I had my seatbelt stuff out, I had another look at those old top mounts, I'm pretty sure they are not 'bits of angle that have been threaded' but rather, they are bolts cut lengthwise and bent

I didn't take another photo, but here's the same one with some changes to brightness and contrast

Those split and angled bolts were common in the day as seat belt top fastenings. Cheers, Fraze

We had a planned power outage today, so I got out the cordless drill and drilled out the pop rivets holding a piece of tin onto the passenger side floor.

I've seen worse and was tempted (momentarily) to make my own patch but drove around to Speedspares instead

He’s got some dipshit stuff. I got a powerglide shift indicator quadrant from him recently. Don’t know where he gets it all.
