Re: ht monaro
this guy would be better off going and giving shane 30k for his, genuine HK 6 cyl GTS but with everything except tags to make 327 correct parts aswell and doubles of alot of stuff
he's got someone that will do a good job now but still seems he's throwing his money away on shit parts

Yeah mate. I just wanted to ask about fb door trims. Im not a machine. There are two of us working on this project.
He cut to car up and i fitted the roof. Most of today i spent getting the eh van ready to paint.
Now watch it rain for a week.
Hopefully by next week ill have the quarter panels sorted. They both are a mess. Even the replacement one.

Re: ht monaro
Anyway i spent the week on the monaro.
It took three full days to repair the replacement quarter panel. Im finding im going back to oxy welding more and more now. If i can get behind the panel to hammer weld it seems to come out better plus there is almost no grinding. This panel apart from rusty was also really smashed up near the tailight. I must have put twenty or thirty shrinks in that area to get it back into shape.
It feels pretty good now and will only need a thin skin of bog to get it right.
It would be nice if new affordable repo ones were made.
Either way yesterday i trial fitted it.
Next week ill rebuild the lh quarter then dismantle all the panels off and paint them inside before welding on.

Re: ht monaro
A rusty scond hand section was split, blasted, repaired and fitted to the car.
Off course once all welded in the back window didnt fit so I had to split the panels and enlarge the opening a couple of mill.
The next job was to make the bootlid and the chrome gutter moulds fit. Again several hors were spent playing around with it.
All the panels are done except the rh front guard which as all the other panels has been destroyed by the previous beater.
The car is now in hifill. Its going back to the owner to be completely assembled to make sure it all fits together right.
Once the primer hardens right up over a couple of months it will come back for paint.

Re: ht monaro
It's great to see the progress you are making here - I can't believe the previous work that was done...how businesses like that survive is beyond me.
Awesome job and look forward to seeing the finished product
