Cheers Dave, I will be calling the DOT as it gets closer to the time however any info you have to offer is great. Got any closeups of your engine bay. We are currently going through exhaust, steering, radiator issues. Oh and brakes! It would be great to chat if you have the time. PM number be great. How do you find the weight of the chev up front? my ute is regoed with a 350. the ute had just been regoed in Qld about four months prior. i had all the paperwok and had no drama with the inspection.
the ute was not in my name, i produced a receipt for the ute and it all happened in about three hours... most of that waiting @ Welshpool Inspection Centre.
I was told to go there as if there were any problems they could speak with the appropriate people.
i still have all the required info etc and a contact number @ DOT.

Cheers Doc, still waiting on some progress pics from mechanic. Apparently everything is on track and I should have the van in WA around July.
Hey what are your thoughts on doing something like what they are doing in VIC with the "back to the drive-in thing." Dongara is where I live and we still have an operating drive-in. Obviously will take some organizing but could be great.
Let me know your thoughts

Always a great idea for a run.........unfortunately, not many Drive-in's left on this side of the desert.
Only two I know of are north Perth and Busselton. There's a rumour the one in Perth is under threat to be shut down as well

Dongara has an operating drive-in, very much old school, I haven't organized anything like this before so I will start making some enquiries locally and post as I go. If anyone has any ideas feel free to help out.

So excited, I forgot to mention I will have a fully polished original steering box and 4 x deep dish 13" chromies for sale once I pick the car up if anyone is interested. The steering box was good when pulled out last year and the wheels were good, now a little rusty (the ones on my avatar pic). Can post pics when I get to Cairns.

Nope, the housing, billet axles and centre are all of Queensland origin. I am looking at either cutting it down or selling it when the van gets to WA. I really want to fit deep dish rims on the rear, this 10 bolt only gives me 95mm drum face to guard. Perfect for minimal dish but not what I want.

Hi Vintage,
Any ideas on the width of the one you sold, was it drum or disk brake.
What sort of dish did it allow you to have, deep or shallow
