Mask it up Saturday night and paint it Sunday.
Missing church will be a small price to pay.
Looking good, Jase.

i don't know about rainbow fleck maybeee a little lebaneese??? though i do like flake
i think everybody has a different method of what they do between coats etc i heard of a guy that buffs his primer before colour goes on no compound just runs the buff over it
funny story he was painting a guy's HR the guy went over for a look and loved it but sh!t himself as he didn't want the car grey but it looked fantastic when he brought the colour up with the painter the painter laughed and said don't worry it's just the primer

I was told by a qualified panel/painter not to rub metallic before you put the clear as you will see it once buffed
so I don't rub the colour once its on as you run the risk of scratching it to much if you put the clear over
hope that makes sense
on the red wagon the hanging panels I didn't use clear at all just straight colour rubbed and buffed
and both the wagons and the sedan I got the undercoat as smooth and shiney as I could but didn't go as far as dry buffing it
just down to 2000 wet dry paper

I have no doubt that you will get a great paint finish as you have done a top job with the custom changes you have made to it and getting it to where it is at the moment looks nice and straight

If im doing acrylic I finish the primer with nothing finer than 800.
I never slice the mettalic before I put the clear on.
I have put clear over solid colours. Ive tried even mixing clear I the colour. It seems to me the shine comes out the same clear or no clear on solids.
I always clear solids if I blend a repair.
Others may have different methods with give great results.

yeah mick blue and white,i got some pearl here which I may experiment with
I normally 600 wet the primer then a flat colour which I may rub back with some 1200 just to take the top off
the if im going to pearl in with the clear for 3 or so coats
then clear,clear,clear,clear,clear.....leave it to dry for a few months then 1200,15 ,2000 if I can get it
then buff with beer and cornflour or something like mr buff, cause hes the man if he cant do it no one can
oh also found 600 wet at Bunnings in roll form so I can wet sand with the long board
nearly ready for colour just a few bits left, dash etc,

When I cleared the flake on the roof of my HT, I put 2really wet coats on every three or four days in the arvo when I came home from work to give the solvents a chance to evaporate.
It got about a dozen coats all up, maybe more, to bury the flake. I left it for a month or so then blocked it flat.
I did zero prep in between coats.
It has shrunk a little since then as I expected it would, and really needs slicing again, but it still looks great.

Cheers,I might put the flakes in the roof and flash,a tiny weenie bit else I may look a bit like a knob,a bigger knob.
and may experiment with the blue pearl, would love lace in the flash but I don't know how
it would work on the indent in the rear doors
