i call those hammers a gympie,had to go to Russell island to get the grille
he has 4 x fjs in parts but no shells sad face
Searsy if i was half close to a man that had a couple nof bucks spare i throw it into this
and rego it asap,But i cannot have a shed with no project in it
so i got a cm mitsubishi/valiant
ran well ish at revs 3800ish else a stall
fuel was stale ,drained the tank
ran it till the new came through
idles nice now but stammers under power,all sparks are good
im guessing vacume leak or valves
go chrysler

i've had that idea before, i reckon the sharp corners on the opening need to go needs to be rounded and made a little smaller

Mine is like that mate but has a couple of legs that go down and bolt through the inner guard panel as well

Same here. Two legs from the outer edge of the tray descending at a slight inward angle and attached to the flat sheet metal of the inner panel. Fixed in place with m5 nuts and bolts, and some seam sealer around the outside of the spreader plate. Solid as a rock.
When putting the battery in the boot, you may also consider using the vented battery as used in cars where the battery lives in the inside (like my VE ute). Run the tube outside to prevent battery gasses accumulating in the boot.
