Aforementioned "FEK" is a bargain.

You will not find such a good body and licensed car for the money.

If you are serious about owning one of these in the sub $6000 price range, RB's green shaved front door egg sample is the one for you! BUY IT!

I used to think the same as you Kat, that I will NEVER find what I after. The guys on here know what they are talking about, be patient and dont stop looking! I took me just on 12 months to find my FB, and I looked on the net, in papers and magazines virtually everyday, till finally I stumbled onto my one :D
I paid $6500 for mine, which I think I got a bargain. But it is proof that they are out there,. The longer you wait, the more $$$$ you save, so when you do find one, you should have enough moolah for it!
I admit you do get to the point where you think of giving up, or looking for a different model or make. I sure did, but the MRS kept on reminding me, I ultimatly wanted an FB, so thats what I should aim for and dont get sidteracked. I am actually glad I listened to her ( please dont anyone tell her that! ) as I ended up with what I was exactly looking for.
Ratboxs FEK looks a cool car, and for the dollars I dont think you will find any better for the money. MRSDAKAM is saying now she wants her own, and if I had the cash, I would certainly seriously consider it.
Sorry for prattling on, just my 10 cent worth. Good luck :D
Dave.
I'd rather drive something made of metal, not plastic!

Forgot about the subframe bit!

Sure is a good buy though if you're looking. Just enough little jobs to make it your own if you want. Or just leave as is and drive... 8)

Last Friday I went and looked at an Ek a friend bought that had been sitting for years. He wanted me to do the brakes and get it blue slipped.
I couldnt believe my eyes when he showed it to me.
He went to a garage sale the weekend before and bought a trax car off the guy and mentioned he would like to buy an old car. His wife piped up and said there was one in the garage.
They had owned it for 27 years wrapped it in cotton wool the whole time. The car went off the road ten years ago.
It seems to be original paint. The trim including the floor mats is almost perfect with only a worn out drivers armrest. There is no rust and seems like no repairs ever.
The chrome is dull.
Even the boot mat is like new.
The downside is he handed in the original plates and there is no paperwork for the car even though he said he bought it off the original owner.
And the magic question The price. Well lets just say its well below pre gold rush prices and less than ratboxes latest offering (which by the way is a good buy).
They are still out there I just wish I had found it.
