Yep, it's easier to pull the engine/box out to replace a rear head welch plug than to pull the head off.You can give the engine and engine bay a clean as well in the areas that are hard to get to when the engine is fitted.gazrat wrote:my fault i just put the motor in and replaced most of them but couldn't get the bigger ones did not have them in stock but they looked good wanted the motor it for today so we could take it to a rodrun but muphylaw the one i didn't do let go might b just as easy to drop motor and box as i have it down to a fine art nowand do the one behind the box as well then they r all done
Best to fit brass plugs gary and if it's any help I use "Stag" brand sealant as it's steamproof and I've never had one leak when using Stag.It cleans off with metho.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Is to use sikaflex. Make sure its clean, before you apply and let it cure before start up.
Did 2 in a TB42 4 year ago and there still fine today.
I strongly do not recommend this practice, and certainly do not endorse the product, but for a quick fix it definitely works and for long term so far so good.
