is there any way of changing the welshplug in the back of the head with out pulling the motor out

my fault i just put the motor in and replaced most of them but couldn't get the bigger ones did not have them in stock but they looked good wanted the motor it for today so we could take it to a rodrun but muphylaw the one i didn't do let go might b just as easy to drop motor and box as i have it down to a fine art now :roll: and do the one behind the box as well then they r all done

Yep, it's easier to pull the engine/box out to replace a rear head welch plug than to pull the head off.You can give the engine and engine bay a clean as well in the areas that are hard to get to when the engine is fitted.

Best to fit brass plugs gary and if it's any help I use "Stag" brand sealant as it's steamproof and I've never had one leak when using Stag.It cleans off with metho.

The easiest way, Which I have done for Customers on the supercheap.
Is to use sikaflex. Make sure its clean, before you apply and let it cure before start up.
Did 2 in a TB42 4 year ago and there still fine today.

I strongly do not recommend this practice, and certainly do not endorse the product, but for a quick fix it definitely works and for long term so far so good.
