RIP OLSKULE?????

Post by olskule »

Well, it was a great day at the Motorvation show that ended badly on the way home. Looks like OLSKULE's days are numbered and the fun has ended, to be confirmed by the insurance assessor this week I guess. Young fella behind me made a simply mistake and this was the result, in the end a piece of metal, but still a heartbreaker. She's been a very reliable, fun and always challenging drive, and I've been a very careful caretaker of her during my nearly 5 years of ownership.

I'll keep you all posted, but it looks worse in detail than the photo's show. 13 G is the insured value, me thinks there ain't much chance and I'll be getting the wreck and cheque at this stage.

Ah mate that sucks, guess this is one scenario where I can say I know how it feels.....

Good news is I think you will have no dramas getting that fixed. It doesn't look much worse than the damage sustained by my FB and that was just shy of $7000 to repair.

$13k should easily see your beauty fixed up and back on the road. If my memory serves me correct, this is not the first time that this has happened to this particular vehicle?

All the best with it anyway!

That's a shame
It's easier to accept if you've made the error.
But when it is due to the inabilities of another person...well :x

Is that on Anketell Rd?
I got rear ended there a few years ago coming home from a speedway meet.
I was only in my old Nissan, it was a beautifully restored XC wagon GS that hit me.
The owners son was driving (P plates), dad was in the car though.
Felt sorry for him.

I'm going on the fact that it's had a minor bingle in the office car park (workmate who was unable to reverse his car apparantely) 2 years ago, and that was nothing on this, and ended up being around the 6G to fix. Still want to be in an FBEK, one way or the other they'll be a new car with a complete spare car, or this one fixed up bigger and better...........

But with the whole back of the car twisted to one side.........

Nah no pics, bit of paint damage, door moved and ruined the chrome strip.. consequently a couple tools went flying

been drivin it around a bit goin well, i'll be goin out to join the next cruise me thinks if ya wanna jump in..

PS Rossi, seems you are spot on about the over-temp issue, i can keep it down if drive sensible but once hot, impossible to get back down. I still have the details of the mesh you suggested so will follow up.
Its like it gets fuel purge, fludder fludder fludder at high rev.

Hope things lookin up today with'OLSKULE', i know the feelin

Rossi, it hurts to see damage like that :(
i hope no one was hurt
it seems like this sort of thing is happening a little to often
but, get it fixed and keep it out there as it is one of the best modified in perth, now its just a little more modified

Sorry to see Rossi. Sounds like you were pretty understanding of the young drivers mistake. Looks like it was worth hanging on to that spare shell.
