Cool, I missed three deadlines for mine and managed to make the last one I set. I took some of the fun out of it trying to get it done. Can't wait for the end result, it looked great before you started.bebop67 wrote:Hi DR no, i dont want to rush the job, i want it to come out looking really good. i reckon at least 12 months.

Hey Trev, took the top hinge out yesturday and found the pin was loose and popping out. so i welded the end of it onto the outer frame and it worked a treat, here's a pic:

More progress pix, preparing for removal of motor:

Motor out and lot of mess to clean:

Engine bay completley stripped, plenty of duff, plenty of rock'a'billy.
Thanks again to my helper's, Sam and Wayne.

Started to scrub the floors with a wire wheel on my angle grinder and found a hard grey filler type of substance and decided to cut out both front floor pans and replace with the rares pans, not a good fit, but with a bit of cutting and panel beating got them in, some pix:

new pan, holes drilled and tack welded into place where the original spot welds were, will get the panel beater to do a more proffesional weld along the seams.

Hey Scotty, thanx mate. every part that has come off has been documented , photographed , placed in zip lock bags or boxes and labelled. delicate parts have been bubble wrapped and put away in a cupboard awaiting re-conditioning.Sputzwagon wrote:Great job, Joe!![]()

More progress pix, on the truck getting transported to the stripper

At the strippers, trailer full of panels and painted parts

Back to bare metal, and minimal rust

Will be removing front subframe when the ek gets delivered to the panel shop

Boot next to mint condition

Granny visor, wiper cowl and front stone tray

Next stop, going to the panel shop tommorow, more pix soon
