Post by matches »

hi everyone,
just wondering what grade gearbox oil to use in my aussie 4 speed?
i know its probably a stupid question but with the combined wealth of knowledge here i'm sure someone will be able to help me with good/ bad experiences with certain oils.
cheers, luke.

Generally it's just plain old 80/90 EP gearbox oil in the 3 speed and 4 speed synchro boxes.

If its not shifting too well ( mainly a cold winter pre warm up problem ) you could blend it 50/50 with ATF fluid ( auto trans fluid ) to increase its viscosity and make it smoother/easier to change.

A lot of manual boxes nowdays use straight ATF fluid in them.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
