clunky slow changing hydramatic

Post by EKjimmy »

the hydra in my EK has been revving out alot before changing, and changing sort of erratically and just bad in general. Spoke to the guy who restored my car, and he reckons dropping all the fluid and filling the trans up with dextron 2 fluid has a high chance of fixing the problem.
not sure what the previous owner put in it, but i have used transmax M (cant remember if its dextron 3 or 4)
anyone know if dextron 2 is the right fluid, and could it possibly solve the problem?
Cheers, Jimmy

ek jIMMY,
DEXTRON 2 FLUID IS THE RIGHT FLUID TO USE.
Hydramatic boxes with the wrong fluid or mixed fluids will foam up inside the box giving you the erratic gear changes.
Change the fluid mate and you will see a difference.
