Steering Wheel Resto

Hi All, just wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to get my steering wheel restored. I just got off the phone with Pearlcraft in Bega and they're base rate is at $550 just for the steering wheel its self. Re-croming the ring is extra and they cant repair the button. Anyone got any suggestions or possibly a wheel in very good cond. I'm not interested in fixing it myself with bog and paint. Thanks

Does anyone have any tips on how to repair wheels yourself?
Is there any type of resin that can be used for the cracks?

I have used 24 hour Araldite with good results , it will crack eventually though

hey guys,

my panelbeater used "need-it" which was recomended buy a few on the forum... once hardened, sanded then painted...

it looks brand new, but... i haven't actually used mine yet so time will tell...

Have a look in Just Parts, There is a guy that will do exchange Wheels for $130!!!! Hes in Victoria and his number is 03 5243 0498

You will have to open up the cracks with a dremmel and drill some holes so it locks in the gaps, Trev

pearlcraft wheels start at $550 for a resto job in plain black, NOT including the re'chroming of the horn ring or a resto button

Wondered if anyone here has used the KBS product, looks very similar to POR, but made in Australia.

I'll give it a go and see how it turns out, he was doing a resto on an EH wheel which is the one I have. I thought I would have to get it re-splined to fit the commodore column I'm running but tried it on today and it fits staright on BONUS.

very good video, any suggestions on which paint to use. the last wheel i did i used vynal paint. it did evenually scratch up a little. thanks. and do we use undercoat or plastic primer

2 pak is used I believe.
