so true about the belts, absolute pain in the butt to get hold of.
if it won't fit in i'll either go back to standard or modify where the radiator sits so it will. thats one of the reasons why i'm fitting it all up before i get to the paint stage of the car. good for me maybe not for others planing to fit one to a car thats already all done.

trev, would you be able to measure from the flat bit on the block where the water pump bolts on, to the radiator? also are you running a standard ek radiator? if so how think are they?

also depends where the engine mounts have been put on the front end, we usually set the mounts hanging off the rear of the front end a little but you have to use a cable accelorater, the van which had a HT sump i actually had to cut a bit off the little snub on the waterpump to get it in, so the motor would have been further forward than i normally set them up

if you look on the last page in my build you can see where the mounts have been put on my crossmember, are they where you usually put them?

100mm engine to radiator which gives me 15mm from fan to radiator.

Hi guys,i think if you were lookin at extending the bracket you could do a few things 1) you could cut the existing bracket between bolthead and bolt hole that you can see in matches pic and insert a piece,i know (my 70) said his kept cracking but if you allow a gap of about 1-2mm between pieces and weld all round using either stick welding with Low Hydrogen rods or get it TIG'd up at the local fab shop you would be sweeter than a Bowen mango at christmas

2)or same as step 1 but run a small stiffener horizontally along the bracket after you have welded the extension in and stitch weld it to the bracket(prob best done with TIG)my 2 cents

trev, stupid question but is where the arrows pointing to where you measured from? i hope not

aussie edo, i was thinking about how you have said but as i have a few mates that work in metal fab workshops i'll just get a few whole new ones made up.

damn it

, its not going to fit then. mine measures 125 mm from the engine to the front of the pulleys. next option will be to see my mate at the radiator shop and ask if he can make me a radiator 26mm thick that will handle the heat produced by a hot red motor then make it fit.............
i knew i was fitting this up before i painted for a reason.
