Good one SunnyTim

J, the odometer is gear driven, if the speedo is working then something has gone pear shaped in the drive to the odometer. Let me know if the speedo is working, if it is I have a spare complete speedo that I will send you to fix it.

take it out and attach a drill to it. I think a philips head bit will fit in.
Switch the drill on and watch it work if your lucky.

J the speedo and odometer are run off the gearbox, which are connected by the speedo cable. It screws into the back of the speedo, pops out into the engine bay and runs down around to bolt up at the rear of the gearbox. As the guys have said if the speedo works then the cable must be working and the problem is inside the speedo odometer part (the round thing with the numbers on it) Not 100% but i would think the speedo cable of a manuel car will bolt up to the trimatic should you go that way
