$800    , firstly don't go back to that shop  .
I paid about $300 for heavy duty lowered springs and shocks, then cut a coil off the springs  , Trev 8) .

What Trev said, but if you must cut coils off standard springs don't cut too many or you'll get the "bobby ricer" ride where the car is pitching all over the place and you need a kidney brace to go to the local shops
Keep an eye on swap meets and IPG's favourite online auction house
Another option is the wrecking yards, take one of your springs and go looking for something in the same diameter but shorter. HQ shocks are shorter than old holden, might be a good place to start.

 Yep, what they said  .

And,

Cut your bump rubbers in half and reshape them into a cone shape again ( I used a bench grinder to reshape mine ) and this will restore some progressive bump instead of a bang when you hit a bump and you will gain an extra 1 inch of suspension travel.

Or, if you have a HR front end, you can buy shortened polyurethane bump rubbers from ..............

from...........

from...........

a place I can't remember  , but you can get them.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Those who have read this and have no brains but are willing to attemp any mechanical workmanship , go work in retail.

 That's not what I wrote, get your measuring stick out and head down to a wreckers, a good place to start a comparison would be HQ, dunno if they fit or not.
