 The rod is one of those ultra rare NASCO Bonnet Holderupperers that were sold in the NASCO spare parts dealerships as a support measure for sagging bonnet hinge springs.

If you look closely in my avartarry thingo picture at left you'll see a wooden one I had at the Yamba '08 Nationals.

Co-incidentally it looks near exactly like a cut off broom handle
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

arty FB mad is exactly right, but mine is the up market bonnet holderupperer note the chrome. Rule 1 DONT get your springs chromed when you chrome the hinges as the tensile vanishes hence the NASCO bonnetholderupperer (a very rare nasco product)

I then changed the colour to Hennortt red and did some rust replacementin the front sill caused by the sun visor ends letting water in.

:D here is a pic of my bomb at a car run to the East coast of Tassie this weekend just gone. It shows the front bonnet badge I made and the dual overriders

I get board easily so I took the hub caps off and put HR cappers (small grease cap covers)and chrome nuts to show off the chromies
