Electronic dizzy in grey.
Electronic dizzy in grey.
Hey all, I have heard that a vk electronic dizzy will go into the grey. Apart from the drive gear is there anything else that needs to be done to accomplish this, do I need to install a new electronic coil or are there any other electronics to be replaced? Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks.
P.S. hope to be going shopping at the wreakers tomorrow....

You may not want to go that way though as some people are allergic to some of the products used

That is the main reason I want to replace this dizzy is to loose the points. I will go to the wreakers and have a look at some and see what is close and take it from there. The above option sounds good but it adds up to about $570 with freight. Is it worth it, opinions wanted please....
Whatever....:(

Mate I have done it and woulnt look back the guys at Performance Ignition were very helpfull
only draw backs were the modual housing sits very close to the column shift linkages and if you run the vac advance can be a bit tight and a bit of messing around with getting the modual to clear the linkages an the the vac advance to clear the block and get the timing spot on
And the leads they supplied were a bit on the short side caused a lot of bad words on my behalf however I didnt ring and complain but I recon if I did they would have sorted it
The more specs you give them the better they can set the advance curve to suit your engine
Ill get some pics soon
If you want just a drop in unit try pertronics

ive done a bit of poking around, and i reckon im going to have a crack at converting my points to electronic.
from what i gather, i need a bosch HEI module, and either a reluctor or hall effect (or optical, but i think ill steer clear of that one) triggering system.
anybody interested? or any warnings from those more experienced?

Says on the box "Easy to Install"
Comes complete with 20 pages of instuctions
Actually, the instructions are very comprehensive and easy to follow also has a complete trouble shooting guide
