Removing cement from good paint

Hey guys
My modern ute (not the ek) got splashed with cement when I was mixing some months ago and has set hard on the paintwork. My question is, can I use hydrchloric acid & water to remove it without damaging the paint?
There are drops the size of raindrops here & there. Just wondered otherwise I'll haver to scratch it off gently with a screwdriver as it doesnt soften with water. If anyones had the same problem it might save me some time.
