Pictures of Model Car Show (real cars too) PERTH!

Post by J »

For the past 10 years the West Coast Street Rod Club in Perth have been holding a Model Car day, although they are model cars - it also attracts big versions of them.
Alan Barton, the main organizer has had companies in America calling up trying to get involved in the event. The record number of people buying tickets last year was 900 people, this year it was 1400 adults (under 16's free).

Here is a bit of a run though of what I got up to on the day - I am quite the amateur photographer and have been practicing tilted shots. So if your neck hurts after this dont say I didnt warn you :P I also chucked in few arty edits for ya ;)

Image
This was the first thing you saw when you came through the gate, I believe it was built in the 70's and after being retired it sat in a shed for ages. Until it was restored to its former glory - they still do demo's in it.

There were some cool cars inside - not real but models. You would be suprised as to how much detail they go to. They chop the roofs and everything  These are the ones I liked in particular

After a few laps of the room inside, and a scan for the slightest possibility of hot girls my age (unfortunatly there wernt :( ) I went for a prowl outside but got distracted by other hot things..

Hot Rods 8)

Image
This is AB's (the organiser's) 28 &*#@, he started building it when he was around my age - or before and this was when hot rods werent even allowed to be rego'd in W.A

Image
Later in the day I heard kids say this was a lamboghini murcleargo(or whateva the plastic p.o.s is called) simply cos its yellow :P

Image

Well I cant be bothered ordering them into hot rods, customs and classics so here is just photos in the order I took them in.

ANDREW - IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!

This old man I am confused as to why he does it... Beautiful car and last year he parked it in the exact same spot - where no-one can see it

You been getting photo tips from Boris, J? Some really good shots there.
Looks like a great day.

I've got a few unbuilt kits, just can't find the motivation to do any of them...

not really devilrod - i just like to look of low shot on an angle, or features of a car - like the one i did of the 57 chev fin, practice on my ek a bit too

I do also like a lot of boris's photos, but he mainly inspires me with his writing in articles rather then photo's - they are always a lot more entertaining and interesting to read then other writers.

thanks for the comments on the photos
and the day was great - great to take kids too
they even have prizes for model cars youngin's build
