andrew,

the backing board sits infront of the wheel arches, meanin i dont have to cut around them. It also sits level with the horizontal bootline

here is a 5 min drawing i did for you: you can see through the speaker hole the continued floor which may be cut off, but i gotta attach an amp to something :S

Well today I also was working on the boot. Got a fair amount done as well :)

this is where I finished off yesterday - the side panel is not attached and doesnt fit properly, I also only had 1 of them.
Image

I made the side panels to day and had to do a fair bit of shaping, spent ages figuring out an easy way to fit them.
I remembered an old bit of metal which was holding my stereo into the dash - grabbed it and made 2 hinges for each side of the boot.

They work well but just gotta make sure they dont shake around too much...

COS I BOUGHT THIS!

Image

$100 Less then normal price may I add 8) 8)

I decided, well now that I got a sub woofer I gotta get around to making the back board and get a glove box for my head unit.
I thought - screw metal, I got enough MDF and this is what I made up.

Held together quite dodge but its strong and it will last. Cut a hole for the head unit and now Im just waiting to wire it up!

My "fluffy slipper" was also helping me out again today

Went to JB HIFI and they didnt have what I wanted even though they said they did.

So this normally $208 12in pioneer sub and box was mine for $140
Amp wiring kits were about $80 - im getting mine for $40
4ch 800w Pioneer amp about $200 i think?

+ my already purchased headunit
+ $cheeseburgers speakers from andrew

total price = $500
price i would have normally paid = $888 approx
