The Long Car.... or Jim Gullans FED

Post by Devilrod »

OK this is what else is hiding at my place, I posted this up a few years ago, just a single pic mind you back when this topic first kicked off...

Anyway this was built in 1963 and ran mainly in VIC & NSW, sponsored by Repco as James Gullan worked there at the time. First up ran an old leaning tower of power hemi 6, followed by a red motor through to a big block &*#@. All 427 ci running through the Austin A40 diff

It ran times varying from mid 9's through to high 11's..

Under construction...

And now, although this was before I moved. As you can see it shared space with the roadster..

man that thing must have struggled to pull those times with those back tyres.

I'm quite partial to these beasts, i just love seeing the old 202's hauling some ass, and i got talking to Norm McCormack at WSID as he punts one of these down the strip, and his rear tyres were like 11 inch or something ....

having said that he runs a 202 with a custom made head and a 4/71 blower .... i love it :)
