Which radiator to use?

Post by Naughty »

Hey all,

I have a red 202 in the Old Girl but she keeps overheating , So im putting the question out there to the other guys and girls running 202's in their EK's what radiator/fan setups are you using?

Thanks in advance

Mines not running yet, but I have cut the radiator support panel to take a standard HG radiator. Probably running thermo fan due to lack of space.

My last EK ran a 3 core HR radiator with a hot 202, standard fan and I never had trouble.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

I'm running a 173 with twin carbs (nothing special) HR radiator and normal engine fan with a 5 mill gap to the radiator and she has never overheated.
maybe you could unplug the warning light so it wont bother you again

Aussie desert Coolers (Norm) will take your standard radiator and convert it to triple bypass, and retain the original mountings etc it is a little costly though, but he guarantees even a really worked motor will not overheat from the radiator used!
Just a thought

hey Robbo,

a normal 202 HQ size radiator ( same core from HQ to HZ ) will fit with minor trimming of the radiator support panel into an EK. Should run well without overheating unless you have airconditioning fitted.

regards    :o :D :D
