Believe it or not I hadn’t thought of that Neil. There you go putting thoughts in my head.

Yes, a sad day for Karen and I but I know 60SPECIAL is going to a good home. She just isn’t getting used enough since the Panelvan has been on the road. Congratulations to Elle.
We have agonised over selling but she’s going back to SA where I found her in 2008. Moving house at the moment as well.

Elle has a whole room full of shoes thanks Mick
I went and picked her up from CEVA this morning, put some insurance on and thundered home. Squealed the back tyres off the mark a couple of times unintentionally, and once intentionally. Runs very nicely and sounds great. No complaints regarding the performance of the Holley 350, though it seemed to use a fair bit of fuel on the way home.
Steering is a bit heavier than the ute no doubt due to wider front tyres, with 205/60 13s on 7” Splatts all round, and there is some play, but seems to be mainly in the drag link, which is original style.
I just have to make some space now.

So glad you are happy with her Clay. Have you let Elle have a drive yet?
I wanted to put a HR drag link on but never got around to it.

Re: Elle’s 1960 FB 225 mild custom
Two hours of thumb twiddling later, full roadworthy required.
After calming down, and speaking with vehicle standards, I have submitted an application to modify. This can now be done on line. However they now require specifics relating to engine (none ) and wheel modifications. I measure the Splatts to be around N05 offset, and front track at 1440mm. In SA maximum allowed for the HR front is proportedly 1420mm. I could possibly get away with this, however I will probably fit my chromies off the front of the ute, which are P05 with P185/80R13 90S tyres. This will bring the track in spec. Current tyres are 205/60R13 all around. Narrower tyres front with 10mm reduced scrub radius should lighten the steering considerably.
Apart from the wheels I will replace the draglink with HR, oh and I have a pair of 7x13 P18 chromies that will fit the back. I will get some more of the Nankang 235/60R13 94H from gledges mate Colin to go on. Ute can go back to the Sampson Magnums.
Now I’m over the disappointment of failing the identity check, I’m enjoying the challenge.
