Great job zeroing the speedo mate. When I’ve tried it the digits end up slightly askew.

I can honestly said as an instrument maker, I a better welder. :roll:
I have managed to wire the gauge cluster with a couple of multi pin plugs - thanks Brett for sharing your setup.

A word of warning to anyone who is thinking of changes to your gauge.
Firstly Holden made all of tabs just long enough to the job they intended.
The acyclic I used is 3 mm for the modern engraved symbols and the orginal is 2.6 mm. Not much but enough to cause issues.

Another problem I caused was not drying the spood face completely so I have a couple of water bubbles in the grooves.
Note to O in Holden.

Any suggestion on how to mark the dashes on the speedo ?

If you have another speedo to pull to bits I would take it to somewhere that does laser engraving and see what they can do with it ?

Dont know if the picture would be sufficient ?
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Small lengths of adhesive tape, cut to length with a sharp knife/scissors, then stuck onto the ivory background. Pick a thin tape so you only have to cut to length, and a quality one so it does not peel.

If you are playing with the signwriters, think about buying some plastic razor blades at the same time. They come in a couple of grades of hardness - some for scraping stuff off hard things like chrome, softer ones for scraping off plastic or paint. They are mighty handy.

I tried that on the wagon. Looks OK, but not the same standard as the rest of Ammo's ute (I am no pinstriper). The lines are different thicknesses and the ends of the lines all slightly different.

I was talking about just a custom thin line decal exactly the same as the factory one just to take the guess work out of trying to get tape or paint in the right position.. not the speed correction decal

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I decide to go with 3mm and 2mm black vinyl tape from Office Works.
The extra thickness should prevent or stop any excuse for speeding, went Anne-Marie is driving. :roll:

I have been working on the ute but too little show.
A little while back I chipped the paint on the front guard so thinking it would a quick fix, I got into it.
A little sand and fill then under coat and then colour with clear on top.
I did not like what I saw, so after a quick discussion with myself. I grabbed the grinder and a nylon disc and stripped the paint off.
Several grits of rubbing and filling, I now have a guard to paint but not by me. I will do the drive up country and get Wayne to paint it.

As I'm using a VL column, I needed to add a dimmer for the dash lights.
This will go under the dash where the original hand brake went.

This morning the front wheels arrived 15x 6 but there is no grey spokes available so now I need to either paint or powder coats to match the rear.
