Hi Clay,
You are venturing into the hi tech spares area, you will be suprised how well that throw out bearing works.
As for the motor, dont forget to clean every single oil passage, pipe, cooler or anything that has oil going through it. Its amazing where the shrapnel ends up.

Yep, clean, clean, clean Greg. I hear brake cleaner (white spirits?) is pretty cheap lately. There is plenty of shrapnel in the bottom of the sump and the oil filter inlet, no doubt the pickup and in galleries etc. Bits about fingernail clipping size.

Mucking around mounting the clutch master half the day.Bolts were too short so ended up with unc ones from local hardware which should be OK except the heads are 13mm.....

I don’t think I could centre the nutserts and get them to stay in the firewall. Easy enough to just tack the nuts under the dash. Off to Konnect for some longer 5/16” UNF bolts first.

Jeez. Now I'm over Bendigo, and alllmostttt over the bloody bubonic plague, I've started on the cam change. I managed to change one spring back to standard for the run-in so far, without losing a collett. At this rate, it will take me a fortnight. Then I have to change them back in the car, using the longer, heavier springs. It may never happen....

Like anything I suppose, it gets easier with practice, and I can now say it should only take me several days, rather than a fortnight, to change the springs.

One step forward, six steps back....
I managed to pop four pistons out of the bottom of their bores while pressurising cylinder 4 for valve spring change. The head will have to come off, and I will probably trash the rings getting them off so I can slip the pistons back up.

The marks on the end of those bolts look like the Zenith trademark rather than grade markings. The hardware stores like Bunnings don't stock much UN thread... their bulk fasteners are Whitworth. 1/4"WW prewar and 5/16"WW postwar bolts both have very close to 13mm AF heads.
You sure you're not using Bri-ish bolts?

Possibly harv. Anyway they will be replaced with 5/16 UNF. Least of my worries now....

Agree. For what it's worth, I suspect I've got similar Zenith WW bolts in a few places in the wagon.

Could be worse. I have taps and dies for Gas (British Standard Pipe Parallel), British Association and British Standard Cycle threads, and had Rob help with rethreading a British Standard Brass thread on the back of a US-built tacho.
That stuff makes Whitworth look tame.
