Hi guys,
I have moved onto another box which had a pile of stuff labelled handbrake. I'm trying to work out what ive got and theres plenty of useful threads and pics on here, but ive obviously got some key bits missing and some not relevant. Looks like I can get a replacement front cable from Rares, but missing the clevis and equalizer Im sure i could work out a spring- Would anyone happen to be able to assist (EK mart when the proprietor returns??) or have any workaround ideas. The rear axle is standard drum from what I can gather, but theres no guts in the drum at the moment- thats the next box... Diagram is from the manual I have for reference to assist
Also cant work out what the 2 bits are at the end of the int. lever?? As always, appreciate the help.
cheers and a good weekend to All,
melly

Re: Handbrake help
Hi Melly,
You have extra parts there,
Door catch shims
Brake line retaining clips
I cant really tell what the half round piece is, need a better picture.

Re: Handbrake help
Should be short pins with split pin one end and flat head other that hold the adjuster clevis one end and equaliser toward the other end of the intermediate lever. Not much to it. Do you have the pivot member, assuming manual car? I have good spares if required.

Re: Handbrake help
Cheers Greg/ Clay- with all the hardware gone these are the main bits, so only 1 pin Clay. Attached a pic of the intermediate lever fittings on the car- it’s a manual now but think was auto originally. Will need some bits so appreciate the help. Greg are the door shims those perforated looking things? Here’s some better pics of the mystery bits, the small lever piece has been butchered with a grinder so hope it’s not important…

Re: Handbrake help
Hydramatic shift gate is the C shaped bit. Perforated bits go between body and door strikers. The solitary wheel fits to a welded on axle pin on the subframe in line with where the cable comes through the firewall. The wheel and bracket bolts to the inner subframe leg down below the headlight dip switch.

Re: Handbrake help
Thanks Clay- reckon if I can scrounge up an equaliser and clevis I’d be right- any idea what the small lever/ link piece might be?
Re: Handbrake help
Looks a bit like Hydramatic column lever.

Re: Handbrake help
I would be surprised if we couldn't dredge up an equaliser and clevis in amongst all the crap up here Melly
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
