On the way to start of our cruise today, I saw this at the servo. Quick chat the guy who uses it as his work car.

Val ute
There is a right way and a wrong way and then there is my way which is usually the long way.
Re: Val ute
Would've been a slanty originally?

VG. So it would have been a Hemi, but my guess is a 215. The 265 was a VH-and-later thing.
A friend had a taxi-pack 215 VH Charger (about $200) in the mid '80s. It went well enough to see off 4.2 LX Toranas, for example.

We had one of those in sedan form as a paddock basher- along with many others - when we were kids , it was the best one we ever had . We hit a tree stump and buggered the radiator and kept driving it until it stopped , let it cool down and it would start again and off we go until it stopped again - repeat all day.

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Val ute
Early VGs still had the 225 slant motor, until the 215 Hemi replaced it.
This ute has a 4-speed which wasn't available in a any VG, so it's most likely had an engine transplant as well.
