Horn Buttons - Colour Range ?

Post by Mephious »

Gents , I know theres a couple of different coloured horn buttons out there ( I know of blue and green ). Can anyone provide a list of what was available and were the colours suited to a particular model ? Ie blue - FB green - EK ?

Curious to know what they stand for etc or were they simply a choice given to the vehicle purchaser ?

Cheers

My first EK had silver stars, but they could of been green or blue but faded, and the EK one I threw out not long ago (cause I dropped the friggen thing and broke a section off) had Gold stars.

Cheers gents, I had it in the back of my head that there was more then blue/green but wasnt sure if I was getting confused with other holden models.

Blue
Green
Silver
Gold

Silver and gold sounds pretty nice , possible to get some pics ? I have a few (all gree) coming from Ebay, both the EKs had sas timber wheels when I purchased them ... John I might have to throw one on the window sill to see if I can lose some colour, silver !!!

Just checked mine and in poor light I'm pretty sure they're green...car is blue.

Interested to hear the definitive answer on this question.

Two colours only boys and girls.

Now dumb question, ive seen people re do the fe-fb ones, ek grill badges, and heaps of other plastic badges. Can i change the paint colours inside them? What would be involved.

I want to make a white or red one for the fb, as i dont think the blue matched my trim.

Guys any thoughts, insites on this custom horn cover??

Gday Retro

Have a look in Matty Martin thread on Kustomizing Dash
to see how he removed the paint from behiend his dash gauges.
Devilrod gave him the tip,......'Oven Cleaner'
It just might work on a horn button and grille badge.

Cheers
