Rubber mats recommendation

Post by Blackdog »

Hi All
Just installed rubber mats to the old girl.
Very impressed with these.
Perfect fit as if it was factory. All the holes and wrap around the column and hand brake were spot on.

Also installed the aftermarket firewall card.
I had to cut the centre section out due to the heater
Also fitted well.

Looks good - for an EK :P
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Had a heater just like it in FC years ago. Good thing. Smiths?

Hi Clay

One of the heater gurus would be a sure bet on the brand.
Yeah I thought it an FC era? Any info would be great!

Heater core and 12 v fan. In one.

I like it though. Works well, simple, a small rheostat switch in where the cigarette lighter goes.
Anyone know what they did originally for the switch placement? Never asked.

Ducts up to the vents under the dash for demisting and has the cabin fan.
Never had a heater tap just straight plumbed to the head.
Been used every winter for the past 20 years

Mine just had an on off toggle switch retro fitted somewhere but the FEFC people talk about a rheostat knob, also retrofitted somewhere. Rob Shaw will probably know. Mine was branded Smiths somewhere, may have been an anodised tag somewhere.

Looks a very neat fit. Another job on my list to put a rubber floor mat in the Ute and get rid of carpet. I am not skilled in using a vac cleaner………. that is my excuse for avoiding house work!

I have one of those heaters at home but the core is buggered unfortunately, I was going to put it in my ute so I pulled it down , the fan works , the body of it is in really nice condition and the core when filled with water looked like a sprinkler :esad:
