Creaking in the steering

Post by meldoom »

Anyone had this before?

Can tell if it’s coming from under the dash or closer to the honey pot.

Cheers

Could be dry or worn out support bearing inside the honeypot, but have a look in the engine bay first, where the tube is riveted to the steering box. They often crack or get loose rivets there, particularly if running wide front rubber and doing a lot of parking.

Cheers Errol,

I’ll have a gander. Sounds like a bearing to me.
