What tailshaft

Post by EK-179 »

what tail shaft should be used in an fe fc with a hr diff and an aussie 4sp? (this would be the same as a aussie 4sp and hr diff in an fb ek ;) )

im sure i was told to use the hr one (the hr one we have is out of a hr wagon with aussie 4sp and hr diff), of which is approx 1" shorter than the original ute one. does this sound right?

Hi Guys.

The tailshaft to use for an Aussie 4-speed in an FE/FC/FB/EK is an EK auto one. Just change the yoke, it has different splines.

The same length tailshaft is used for, 3 & 4-speed Aussie boxes, Hydra-Matic, Powerglide & Tri-Matic. They all use the same yoke except for the Hydra-Matic.
