Are they the right rubbers? Mine didn’t have to compress that much - bit of rubber grease and they tapped in nicely and only locked up with the final compression as nut locked up - were they rare spares?

Good work Clay
How is the engine recon going? Did they say when you might get it back?

Moment of truth. If anything I would've liked it lower but still got spare, floorjack etc. Oh and the motor and trans.Image

Hi Stephen
They were on to it on Monday when I dropped the head off.

Plenty to keep me busy here. Wheel Cylinders turned up in the nick of time for Easter. Spring bolts were too late.

Will hang shocks and put floor back first.Image

This is my spare now to suit the HR brakes. It's like a lucky charm to me. It came with the disc front I put in my old sedan (Errol) in 1986 and been my spare ever since. The rubber looked old then. It's a Uniroyal 240 steel radial about 1978 era.Image

Had to play around and put the dish pigs on. Very close too her guards but drums aren't on yet. Just glad I've got a decent sway bar on it.ImageImage

good thing you dont have drums on it going by the last pic ?? looks like outside tyre will rub when cornering if they were that close to the inner guard
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

There will be some fiddling with rims and inner guards may have to cop some adjustment

Tyres are 235 and outside clearance horizontally is about the same as inside, although at current ride height there is plenty of vertical clearence.

Sway bar links too long brother or not connected yet !!!

Your gunna need bigger tubs or smaller tyres.
