Battery hold down bar

Post by Brett027 »

Has anyone got a battery hold down bar laying around spare? Need one to finish off sedan. If none available, can someone take a few measurements for me and a couple of close up photos and I'll attempt to make a couple. Thickness of metal would be good to know too😀. Many thanks. Brett

25 x 3 angle will do the job
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Thanks Blacky, saw that post but missed out getting it. I know I can use angle iron but assume the originals were not that thick otherwise they would still be around. Also would like to include the flat sections where the threaded rods go through.

Much appreciated Patrick. How long is it, and what is distance of hole from edge? I'm going to make a few I think😀

G'day Brett,

I've got one here on the bench. It needs to go back onto Grace's ute (one day...), but you're welcome to borrow it if you want to use it as a template to make a few. PM me a name/address and I'll pop it into the post.

Cheers,
Harv

FE-FC: yes. FB-EK: no. Clamp and related hardware may fit FB-EK, though.

Thanks for posting Greg, I'm on to it😀. I'm also going to get a price on getting 10 bars made. I will use Harv's as the template and check this one against it. I need 3, I know of another who wants one and there must be others who want them too. Cars just don't seem to come with them- none with my 4 wrecks.

I have had to run a shorter bar than standard due to the 3 core HR radiator I'm running.
