FC braided fuel line
FC braided fuel line
Gents,
Found my braided fuel line bubbling at the crimp to the connection of the fuel pump.
Does anyone have one for sale?
Many thanks in advance Ric.

Re: FC braided fuel line
Patrick,
File through the crimp ferrules so that you can separate the hose from the fittings; and then go to a hydraulic place with the fittings. They should be able to crimp a new hose section in place.

Re: FC braided fuel line
or if you don't mind it not being braided, after you cut through the crimps (I used a dremel) you can slip a bit of fuel hose on ... though if you don't have the braided hose, an additional earth to the body is a good idea

Gents,
Thanks again for your replies.
Before I go down the path of a non original or non genuine part.
As my car is a survivor car, I’ll hold off a little to see if something original pops up.
I’ll also run this by the guys on the FC forum.
Many thanks,
Ric.

Re: FC braided fuel line
I had one on my ute when i rebuilt it , I kept it and cleaned it up so it looked brand new - refitted it to the car and when i put fuel back in it the bloody thing looked like a sprinkler Repro is most likely the best bet , it would be like trying to find a good original brake hose would rather have a repro part on a survivor car than burn the bastard to the ground ..........

Can’t disagree with you Blacky.
That would have been painful seeing a good hose turn to crap like that.
I’ll check that supplier today and see what they have.
When I saw it bubbling away when I returned home, I had that vision of it catching fire, so I grabbed my fire extinguisher off the wall and waited the few minutes for it to stop.

Re: FC braided fuel line
Could be worse... fuel hoses on the early Minis are lower than the tank. When they split, the entire tank drains out under the car.

Re: FC braided fuel line
Holdenman lines are practically the same as original - he does a great job in keeping them the same - quality is great and easy to deal with.

Re: FC braided fuel line
I’ve tried calling Holdenman three times this week.
It just rings out.
Maybe he’s on holidays?
I’ll try him next week.
