1960 FB Gear Knob

Post by anotherfbnewbie »

Hi Guys,
Been a while since I've posted, life gets in the way i guess.

Anyway, i have been given permission from the finance minister to spend some money and get my old girl back on the road.

New brakes and hoses done.
New tyres.
New Dizzy, points, plugs.
Fuel tank and lines cleaned.
All bulbs replaced.
Rust repaired.
Upholstery in need but doubt the budget will go that far.

Anyway, it will be going for inspection early in the new year and i have been told i need a gear shift knob.

If anyone has one, or can send a link to where i can get one, it would be much appreciated.
I'm in SA, Mitcham

Thanks

Hey cob, by the look of the drivers guard that paint will clean up nicely 8) one of the guys in our club had a new gearknob spun up by a fella , they are pretty good - I have one on my ute too. I will ask him if he can get more - if anyone else is chasing one, please chime in - maybe if we get an order for several he might be more inclined to do some ????
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi anotherfbnewbie,
I will have a knob, however I’ve noticed there are a couple of different sizes, with the same thread. My FB ute has a larger knob, whereas the others I have, both manual and EK Hydramatic, are smaller. I’m at Willunga so if you are down this way you can pick it up.
Cheers
Clay

So we have returned from rust repairs.
Looks like the old paint may cut up ok.
