Red motor alternator bracket and adjuster wanted

Post by Brett027 »

SORTED
Hi all, looking to buy a red motor alternator mounting bracket to convert for grey motor. I'm assuming the grey motor belt adjuster will work- if not I'm after one of those too.
Many thanks.

Brett,

I have a hunch, based on old memories of BMC products, that the Lucas 17AC alternator is a bolt-in replacement for the C39 generator. This means that you "should" be able to bolt one up to a grey motor without any modifications. 17AC alternators are about $180 from the people who sell Mini parts.

It would be interesting idea to put to the test.

And then there's the reason advanced why the English never invented a supercomputer . . .
- Because the engineers couldn't figure out how to make it leak oil.

Shouldn't let you people out on the streets🙃.
I already have the alternator - bosch same as LJ torrie, so need this type of bracket.

Appreciate the horizontal thinking though.
