Havent you got a job to go to Rob? No more excuses now. IImage

It is very tempting to go for a little turn up the street yo my mates place. What could go wrong? It's 200 metres up a quiet back street in a pretty quiet town.

I laid it on a bit thick for the amount of thinners I think (1:1) trying to get nice and wet for a smooth finish. That backfired so now thinned paint and more coats going on. Hopefully can colour after this.Image

Lol - playing the waiting game and getting someone else to do the ute work while I make socks and jocks - hopefully tomorrow - it’s looking great with a buffImageImage

Yep
Bit of shopping done today at jcar and aveska. Ian at Aveska is a helpful and knowledgeable boy who has been around and knows his stuff regarding old holdens in particular and rubers and seals in general. Got the 2.4 metre length of weather stripping cut in four and sent over from briz for $70. Now have to fit the clips. Also the q.v. rear seals for $7 each. They are a bit longer to fit Bedford trucks. Q.v.s were gettin a refurb but waiting for mate to bring back the contact so on to headlights.Image

Reinstalling the Bosch headlights that came in the car with help from Ardiesse with done donated parts. Old wiring rubber hose was cactus so got 5/16" id trans hose from supzcheap. Nitto tape and shrink wrap from Jcar blended on to the remains of the original grommets. Don't think you can get hoses for the Bosch lights and most FB EK I've come across have the Lucas lights. Just a silly detail about this car makes it s bit different. May have been a Fishermans Bend thing. Reused original gaskets as they were good and once again I'm not sure you can get replacement for Bosch.ImageImageImageImage

Neat Clay,
I like the Bosch headlight glass, as you say a little different. Good attention to detail with the slot head screws retaining the headlight trims as per original.

Very Interesting on the lights - never new there was a different brand used - The Better auto rubbers should fit both by the looks as the hole in the bucket looks about the same but they are little more than a sheath and quite thin so as long as water can't get in the back of the bucket they do the same job.

Nah I've got a Lucas rubber and the hole in the bucket is bigger. My solution works and will soon be encased in even more cavity wax.

Closer and Closer Clay !!

Putting all the bling back on is exciting, Doing the door windows and rubbers is fiddly but you only have 2 to do !!!

Cheers Greg.
What an afternoon. Called in at Lonsdale Paints for more cavity wax and wax and grease remover. Then Rubber Seals Australia and got plain black Bailey channel @ $25 / metre. Rigid channel came at a good price $25 per door. El Presidente Roger put me on to these guys (RSA) and Aveska as well.

Raff had a parcel from the letter box for me which was random crash box bits from kev on the FC forum. I thought this was it as had received a noti earlier about parcel but then got a message to pick up at LPO. I thought this must be the old master cylinder I bought. Ten to closing Friday so race down and grab it. Gee it's well packaged. Bit heavy be cast iron. Express post??!ImageImageImageImage
