EK front bumper overriders

Post by 62ekute »

When I bought the EK ute, it had a lot of FB parts out the front ... I've slowly collected most of the required EK bits; but, although I've got some good FB front bumper overriders to put on, I'd prefer to put some of the longer EK ones on when the time comes.

Please reply here or send me a message if you have a couple.

thanks
Patrick

Hey Patrick

There were some overriders on gumtree but I can't find them now. This guy on Gumtree has been advertising a fair amount of FB & EK stuff, might be worth seeing what he has.

Nick. He has a complete EK front bumper for a reasonable price. You could paddle across the strait and grab it. He was happy to post me a master cylinder and good to deal with. Sent me a tracking number. Not like the rogue with the mythical clock.

thanks - I got some close up photos of Nick's over-riders - but they'd have to be knocked into shape and re-chromed

- so I'll keep looking

Surprising how much reshaping old chrome will tolerate.

Try Warburton Spares - he has a heap of FB and EK's up there he is parting out and generally in good nick - external chrome bits are getting very hard to find now

Hey Patrick,
Hot rodder alternative is to run no over riders, filling the vacant holes with polished stainless cup head or coach head bolts.

Yep Clay, if I don't end up with some EK ones then it'll be either my FB ones or none (as you say).

Plenty of time - and I can always change things around in the future. Have just been surprised that there aren't many around - maybe they have done their job protecting the grills that come up all the time.

I reckon that there would be a fair market for fibreglass reproductions. Either painted, or chromed using that fancy chroming process they use on plastics. Like welding, fibreglassing is on the list of skills I'd love to learn but never seem to have the time for.

Cheers,
